Holland hosted their first quad of the season on Saturday. On a gorgeous day, the Dutch played well and stayed in the hunt for first place throughout the tournament. With every flight scoring points for the Dutch, Holland would finish in 3rd place with 14 points. The singles players carried the way for Holland, all medaling on the day. Jonah Gilmore (#1 singles) and Sean Ruhf (#4 singles) each went 3-0 to finish in first place at their flights. Neil VanFaasen (#2 singles) and Cristian Castro-Diaz (#3 singles) finished as runner-ups, after each going 2-1 on the day. “We had a pretty solid day,” said Holland coach Kyle Kreps. “It’s always exciting to battle for the top 3 spots, and while we would have liked to get a few more wins, the guys did a lot of things well today. The team is working hard and continues to improve.” The Dutch will next be in action when they host Byron Center on Monday at 4pm.
