The Holland Girls Basketball Team fought back from a large deficit on Tuesday night at Grand Rapids Union. Holland fell behind 34-18 at the half and nearly climbed all the way back. With a 20 point fourth quarter, Holland cut the lead to 54-50 with just over a minute remaining. However, that is as close as they would get, eventually falling 59-50. “We challenged them at the half to reset and play determined. To take what the defense was giving and climb back one possession at a time. The deficit was just a little too big to overcome,” said Coach Telgenhof. Gabbie Hosta had a big night for Holland with 21 points. Ellie Zomer added 10, while Julia Kooyer scored 8 and Aaliyah Smith 7. Holland plays Zeeland West on Saturday in the Dome in their annual Be Nice game.
